1980 |
James Cronin launches the first ever Ceroc night in London. The opening night attracts 80 people. (There is no teacher as such but a team of Taxi Dancers host the evening and dance with the guests.) Ceroc begins to sell between 350 and 450 tickets for a monthly event. A team of Cerocers dance on the BBC 1 program 'Nationwide' |

1983 |
Ceroc moves to Pineapple Dance Studios where four classes per week are run. |

1984 |
The first Ceroc Charity Ball attracts 1700 dancers. |
|
1986 |
Sylvia Coleman opens a weekly Ceroc night in a Central London nightclub. |
|
1987 |
James and Sylvia form a business partnership. Dance classes are combined with freestyle sessions to create the 'Ceroc formula'. |

1990 |
The first National Event takes place. This is in the form of a Marathon, run for charity. |
|
1991 |
Ceroc Enterprises Limited is founded to manage and coordinate the growth of Ceroc. The first Teacher Training Course takes place. The first Ceroc Franchise opens in Norwich. |

1992 |
The CTA (Ceroc Teachers Association) is created to ensure continuity in the standard of teaching. It enables growth around the country to be professionally managed. Cerocshops are devised to help Cerocers learn more easily. |

1994 |
Stepcheck is launched. Taxi Dancers are introduced across the country. Ceroc Headquarters moves into its first office. |
|
1995 |
There is the first National Convention for teachers. |
|
1996 |
A half-hour TV documentary about Ceroc is screened on national television. Needing more space, Ceroc Headquarters moves to its current offices in Hammersmith. |

1997 |
The first overseas agreement is signed to launch Ceroc in Chicago. |
|
1998 |
The number of UK Franchise Owners doubles from 12 to 23 in one year. |
|
1999 |
The first UK Modern Jive Championships take place in May at The Empire, Leicester Square in London. |
