It seems such a long time ago that we held our second busking
session in the Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City. Thanks to all of you who
participated in this session on the 16th January.
The venue has proved yet again to be an excellent location for busking. For
those of you that are not familiar with the venue, it has a superb marble tiled
floor and the dance area we used is located right in the middle of the Howard
Centre its self. With a large balcony above, and set between the up and down
escalators, not only does it capture the shoppers, but as it also happens to
be the entrance to the train station, you get a lot of the passing clientele
as well.

About 24 CEROCERS turned up and danced away for about 4 hours. Some were obviously
very nervous to be dancing in public, but, as at most CEROC events, once somebody
took the plunge the rest were soon to be seen following in their dance steps,
and any remaining nerves were very quickly evaporated.
Others turned up just to hand out flyers or to just generally add their support
to the fun of the day. Yet another added bonus, which we did not know about
at the time, was our Norman, who not only came along to dance but also did a
video of all of the days proceedings. These sold like hot cakes the following
Tuesday at the Forum. And as a direct result of the busking session, the Letchworth
venue had nine new beginners on the Monday night, and at the Hatfield Forum
we had about nineteen new beginners. And now 2 months on it has to be said that
those new people who came along very nervous on that first night are well on
the way to being accomplished dancers themselves. Who knows we may even see
you turning up to any future busking that we hold in the area.
