Valentines day tea dance

The William Cecil Hall in French Horn Lane was the venue for CEROC Hatfield's second tea dance. On what was a damp and dismal day outside, the atmosphere within the venue was hot and vibrant as over 80 young at heart romantics danced away the afternoon. From as far away as Cambridge they came to a hall that was unfamiliar to most, but turned out to have one of the nicest dance surfaces seen for long while.

Hearts and flowers was the theme and the hall was decked out to suit the occasion, as were the majority of the dancers. As you entered the hall you couldn't help but notice the rather large display of food that was on display, that took up two complete tables. A massive thank you must go out to all who bought cakes and other goodies along for the event.

The afternoon started with a short beginners class, and then it was freestyle for the next three hours, to some superb music from Lynn, to the same high standard that we have become accustomed to at Hatfield. The dance floor was constantly full as the revellers enjoyed every minute of what turned out to be a superb afternoon.

Thanks must also go out to the other members of the crew and in particular to Ruth, who kept a constant supply of hot and cold drinks available throughout the afternoon dance session. This no doubt helped to refuel the energy of the dancers.

The event was a big success all round.
Lets look forward to the next one
