FROM THE FLOOR

For this first edition we talk to Norman Punter who has been attending CEROC at Hatfield since the second week. Norman who lives in Welwyn Garden City, is the middle one of 7 children. His star sign is Aries and he drives a Vauxhall Cavalier. Norman has always had a love of animals, and during his life time has bred racing pigeons, chickens, rabbits, budgerigars, and cockatiels. (Ed:- watch out ladies he's obviously one for the birds!)

Norman Punter

How did you find out about CEROC at Hatfield?
A friend saw the busking at the Howard Centre and told me about the Forum venue.

What did you think when you first saw it performed?
It looked much harder than it really is.

What was your first night like?
I came to the Forum on the second week and felt quite nervous and just couldn't see anybody that I knew. I wasn't going to come back but decided to give it another go.

How do you find the people at the venue?
Very friendly. There is no age barrier. I found it much better than line dancing or square dancing, which I have also tried. I have also been to four beginners workshops.

How often do you go to CEROC and to what venues?
Twice a week. I've been to St Albans, Cheshunt and Letchworth, but consider Hatfield as my first choice.

Do you have a favourite move?
The wurlitzer. Also like the first move as it gives me some thinking time.

What is your favourite CEROC dance track?
The Mavericks "Dance the night away" followed closely by Chris Montez "Let's dance".

Anything you would like to change or see done differently at CEROC Hatfield?
Improve the floor at the Forum.

What advice would you give to a complete beginner?
Persevere. Keep at it. Take advantage of the Taxi dancers as they are very tolerant.
