It was a sad evening for CEROC Hatfield when Ruth Tomlinson announced that she
was to give up the job as the Venue Manager, as she wants to pursue a reflexology
course. Ruth has been the manager at Hatfield since its grand opening back in
September and she has been instrumental in its smooth operation that we all
come to take for granted. She will undoubtedly be a hard act to follow. (see
back page for information).
Ruth first started CEROC way back in October 1996 and within six months was
already a taxi dancer at Letchworth, a role she fulfilled until approximately
four months ago. Her encouragement and her dedication, not only to the beginners
but to others as well, should be an example to taxi dancers everywhere. She
would regularly encourage the better beginners to come out of the baby intermediate
line and to get into the intermediate class, and you disobeyed at your peril!!
(Ed:- I’ll vouch for that!)
Regular observers of Ruth will realise that she rarely finishes a complete dance
with anybody, due to the fact that she likes to discuss new moves or move variations
with them. And what can you say about her outfits at some of the theme dances?
Who can forget last Xmas when she turned up as a fairy. If you get the chance,
ask her about the costume that she wore at Bedford which was too dodgy even
to write about.
We wish Ruth well and look forward to seeing her at Hatfield occasionally and
also at the tea dances. It only remains to say a big thank you to the lady,
of whom it was commented to at the CEROC and Ski, Nice legs, what time do they
open? Good luck and keep in touch.
