Whose Crew! This Issue : Lynn

This edition we managed to get hold of Lynn. In one of the hardest interviews since Michael Parkinson did the Emu, you will see she is not quite the sanest of DJs!!!! Lynn describes herself as being tall, dark, very good looking and a Carol Vorderman look alike! She lives in Stevenage and works as a project manager for a network company. She is single and says she likes children, - but only with chips, and indeed she describes this as her favourite meal (but without the sprouts). She is a Libra & is Robin’s "twin" (Ed:- read on) likes travelling, sports, & entertaining friends

How when and where did you start Cerocing?
In Letchworth in March 1996

How often do you go to CEROC and to what venues? At least a couple of times a week. Predominantly in London

What made you decide to become a DJ and what was involved with setting it up?
Robin made me!!! I was supposed to help out for a week when she first started & I’m still here! Setting up involved shopping with Robs for equipment although I had been involved with setting up the equipment at Letchworth for a couple of dances.

Do you miss the dancing bit when you‘re DJing?
Yep, ‘cause I tend to play stuff that I like listening and dancing to. I sometimes manage to bribe Robs to cover for a couple of dances.

Robin refers to you as her "twin". Some people may not spot the similarity!! Can you explain this phenomenon?
There is only 12 hours between us - but I’m the more intelligent!!! (The fact that we have different parents and were born in separate parts of the country is beside the point).

Do you have a favourite move and what are your favourite CEROC dance tracks?
I have a favourite move but not at CEROC!!! (Ed - the mind boggles!) Favourite tracks include "Snake" by Al Wilson, "History Repeating" by Shirley Bassey and "Danny’s all star joint" by Rikki Lee Jones. Basically anything that can be interpreted whilst dancing, with levels of breaks in the music.

What are your favourite groups?
Some of my favourite groups are David Bowie, Stranglers, Nirvana (stuff you can’t Ceroc to!!) Blondie, Queen. Practically any one depending on my mood!!

What hobbies do you have?
Shop Steward for Hatfield Ceroc Union!!! (I have one member at the moment - Mike!),travelling, sports when time allows. I’ll try anything once!!! (Ed - ohh err misses)

How do you relax?
By lying down!!! I usually like to be with friends, a bottle of wine and playing stupid games.

Any ambitions?
To do a bigger dance event for a large number of people.

Any advice for beginners?
Keep going even though it’s difficult to start with. It took me 6 weeks before it started falling into place. I reached new heights of frustration trying to learn.
