This issue we talk to Christine Martin. Christine was born in Devon and now
lives in St Albans. She is married and has two children and says that her husband
is "too chicken" to come along. She works up in London for a housing association,
building new homes. She is a Virgo and says, in her own words, "a perfectionist,
can’t you tell? Favourite food has got to be "something Mediterranean style."
She enjoys swimming, dancing, holidays films and "The Archers"! (Ed:- All together
now. Dum te-dum te-dum te-dum)
How did you find out about CEROC at Hatfield?
Through my friends who had already started going.
What did you think when you first saw it performed?
Great to watch, especially the experienced dancers, but I also thought, quite
wrongly, that it would be difficult to learn, but, as it must feel good to do,
why not give it a go.
What was your first night like?
Chaotic!! I had sore toes all round.
How do you find the people at the venue?
All very pleasant, very cheerful and extremely helpful.
How often do you go to CEROC and to what venues?
I can only manage to get to this class.
You have been on a Cerocshop. Can you tell our readers what it was like?
It was an excellent way to learn several moves in one go. (and also forgetting
them all the next day!!) Totally relaxed and a good laugh as well. I would certainly
recommend that any beginner should go on one. It’s certainly helped me.
Do you have a favourite move?
Not really. The more I learn the more I like, although I did enjoy the double
basket.
What is your favourite CEROC dance track?
Lots! I especially like the Shirley Bassey numbers and also "Dance the night
away".
Anything you would like to change or see handled differently at CEROC Hatfield?
Not really. I find it an enjoyable atmosphere with a good range of dances each
week. The people are so friendly that I don’t feel daft asking them to dance.
