The Tea Dance Experience

Where else could you go on a Sunday afternoon, to dance, enjoy tea and cakes and get to wear your underpants outside of your trousers without people batting an eyelid? Well, it would have to be the famously entertaining tea dances which are becoming something of a legend these days. The highly successful 'Back to School' themed Tea Dance included a School Ma’am and naughty school boy (in blazer and cap) on stage, trying to keep the unruly class in order. Great dancing to be had and the added excitement of avoiding paper aeroplanes, 'Nora the Nit Nurse,' and the deft skill of catapult wielding 'kids'. The drawing competition was a lot of fun too!

The Dynamic Duo - Batman and Robin were on stage for the Heroes and Villains Tea Dance held in October. Another fabulous turn out of cakes - but more importantly people, all dressed for the occasion. Two Adolf Hitler's in shorts, two Masks of Zorro, at least two Al Capone/shady Mafia types, & lots of MIBs, all had to contend with witches, pirates, pussy cats and Indians. Not forgetting the 'unruly' posse from Cambridge, who came as 'The Magnificent Seven' (complete with horses), and proceeded to totally disrupt the beginners class that was going on!

So do join us to celebrate in a 'Sparkly' fashion the next Tea Dance on Sunday December 12th, to be held at the Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School, Hatfield.

Millennium Tea Dance
Sunday 13th February 2000.
The first tea dance of the new millennium will be held on the 13th February 2000. 'Hearts and Flowers 2' will be the theme as it is the day before St Valentines day.

Our New Venue
After much turmoil throughout August and September, as a result of the closure of 'The Forum', we now have a new base at 'Hutton Hall'. This venue has its own sound and lighting system and a much bigger and better dance floor than the Forum. For details and new starting times please see the back page.
