From The Floor

For this issue we have our first double act. Steve and Shirley Cook live in Welham Green, have been married 22 years and have two teenage boys. They drive a Sierra and Steve is also known as 'White Van Man' because he drives a Nissan. Shirley works as a dental nurse, (ED:- so she won’t speak to you until your mouths full!!) is a Capricorn, likes caravaning/camping and glass painting, and her favourite food is steak and chips. Steve is a Virgo, and he also likes caravaning/camping (Ed:- that’s fortunate then!) likes golf, walking, and his favourite food is shepherds pie.

How did you find out about CEROC at Hatfield?
Both:- We both saw a busk at the Howard Centre..

What did you think when you first saw it performed?
Shirley:- I was very impressed.
Steve:- I thought that it was something we could do together.

What was your first night like?
Shirley:- Scary! And I thought I’d never remember any of it.
Steve:- I didn’t think I’d ever be able to pick it up. But I think I’m getting there.

How do you find the people at the venue?
Shirley:- All the people are really nice and friendly. And the taxi dancers are very helpful.
Steve:- We’ve been going for about 9 months, and since day one I’ve found the people very friendly.

How often do you go to CEROC and to what venues?
Both:- So far we’ve only been to Hatfield.

Do you have a favourite move?
Shirley:- I have quite a few but I do like the Octopus and Basket.
Steve:- Yes the catapult.

What is your favourite CEROC dance track?
Shirley:- At the moment Shania Twain’s “Feel like a woman”.
Steve:- Anything that’s got the right beat. Not to fast and not to slow.

Anything you would like to change or see done differently at CEROC Hatfield?
Shirley:- No I’m happy as things are.
Steve:- A few more tables and chairs put out.

What advice would you give to a complete beginner?
Both:- Keep at it & use the taxi dancers. They are so good and very patient
