From The Floor

For this issue we made a dawn raid and have co-opted the services of Clive Matthews. Clive is a Sergeant in the crime squad, based at Charing Cross Police Station. (Ed:- can we get him to check the DJ? She’s been getting away with murder for ages!) He lives in Ware and was born in Dorset. He is a Gemini, and is married with two children. He likes Chinese food and drives a Vauxhall Astra. His hobby is fishing.

How did you find out about CEROC at Hatfield?
Sarah the taxi dancer suggested to Christine, my wife, that it would be a good night out and give us some quality time together.

What did you think when you first saw it performed?
It looked good fun but I‘d never get it

What was your first night like?
Hell not knowing where hands legs AND eyes were going.

How do you find the people at the venue?
All very friendly. Rita was a positive boon. (Ed:- God she’ll be hell to live with now)

How often do you go to CEROC and to what venues?
3 times a week. Letchworth on Monday, Hatfield on Tuesday and St Albans on Thursday and also to the Corn Exchange for the freestyle events.

Do you have a favourite move?
At present it’s the lunge.

What is your favourite CEROC dance track?
Santana – Smooth.

Anything you would like to change or see done differently at CEROC Hatfield?
No not really. Be nice to smooth the one or two minor blemishes in the floor.

What advice would you give to a complete beginner?
Keep trying. Learn 4 or 5 moves as a base and keep adding to them.
